A new restaurant opened in Zurich in September 2019 – “Baur’s” at Baur au Lac. The sophisticated new interpretation of a traditional brasserie, Baur’s offers a novel dining experience in a relaxed, casual atmosphere and represents the latest culinary chapter in the success story of Baur au Lac.
The hotel itself celebrated its 175-year anniversary in 2019. Its latest addition is quite different from the other restaurants at Baur au Lac. Andrea Kracht, sixth-generation owner of the Baur au Lac, was inspired by traditional European brasseries, and he cooperated with the London- and New York-based, internationally renowned Martin Brudnizki design studio to bring his idea into being. The studio’s prestigious projects include Annabel’s, Sexy Fish, The Ivy, and the Soho House in London, the University Arms in Cambridge, Pink Mamma in Paris, and the Café Boulud in Toronto.
Baur’s impresses with a combination of modernism, chic, unconventionality, and sophistication. Its elegant bar, a lively dining counter, the brasserie itself, and a luxurious cigar lounge have been designed to welcome hotel guests in and capture the hearts of Zurich locals.
